Craft Groups

Craft groups across the Presbytery play a vital role in building connection through shared creativity. They bring people together around simple, hands-on activities -- knitting, sewing, quilting, painting, card-making -- that invite conversation to flow naturally. For many, these groups offer a gentle, welcoming way into community, especially for those who might feel unsure about more formal church settings.

The act of making something together creates space for relationship. As hands are busy, stories are shared, friendships form, and trust grows. Craft groups often bridge generations, skills, and backgrounds, allowing people to learn from one another while working side by side. There is no pressure to perform or produce something perfect --participation itself is what matters.

These groups also connect creativity with care. Items made are frequently donated to those in need: blankets for hospitals, garments for new parents, gifts for people experiencing hardship. In this way, creativity becomes an expression of compassion, turning time and talent into practical support for the wider community.

Showing up, making together, and sharing life in small, meaningful ways can be deeply sustaining -- for individuals and for the church as a whole.
