Food Pantries
Community church pantries are quiet, practical lifelines for local neighbourhoods. Run by volunteers across the Presbytery and sustained through donations, they provide food and basic household essentials to people who might otherwise go without -- families juggling rising costs, older people on fixed incomes, newly arrived migrants, or those experiencing sudden crisis.
Beyond the groceries, these pantries foster connection. A conversation at the door, a familiar face behind the table, or a simple “how are you going?” can matter as much as the food itself. In places where isolation is common, food pantries create spaces of dignity and welcome, reminding people they are seen and valued.
Rooted in a commitment to care for neighbours, community food pantries translate faith into everyday action. They don’t solve every problem and quietly help communities hold together.
You will find food pantries at Bathurst, Blayney, Cowra, Dubbo, Narromine and Orange Uniting Churches.
